Cajamarca Tour: First class journey via bus through the Andes arriving in the afternoon to Cajamarca. The city was the hometown of Atahualpa, the last autonomous King of the Inca civilization. We begin the city tour in the colonial and Inca Imperial sectors, the Cathedral and the 17th century San Francisco Church, which houses the Museum of Religious Art, a fine collection of colonial oil paintings and the catacombs. We will also visit the Ransom Room, which in 1532 was filled with gold and silver in hope for King Atahualpa's freedom from Spanish conquistadors, where he was ultimately killed.

Cajamarca EcoTour: Excursion to the pre-Inca Cumbemayo Aqueduct built in 1500 BCE, and is the largest Stone Age construction in the Americas. The aqueduct still functions and is nearly a mile long with a series of ceremonial altars alongside. Afterwards we visit the Stone Forest filled with weathered rocks resembling monks and other formations. The forest leads us to the Otuzco burial grounds consisting of graves carved into volcanic rock cliffs. The ancient site has been dated between 500 and 1200 CE. Before the end of the day we will visit an agro-tourist farm that makes cheese and farm for local citizens.
